The Story Behind

When I arrived in Buenos Aires for the second time in January 2009, I had  only just learned about  Gretaflora tango shoes. A Swedish tanguera who had just been in BA had left me a card that made me decide to make a visit to the Gretaflora store my first port of call.  I stupidly forgot the card , but a  quick perusal of the internet led me ‘home’.

To my big surprise I found shoes so different from all the other tango shoes usually sold in BA. The colors and embellishments captivated me, and after having tried them on, I felt as if I could dance all evening and still be dancing on air.

A friend of mine once said ” If I can`t have many men, I might as well have many shoes.”

In the taxi on the way home I was trying to decide which of my new shoes I would wear that same evening to a milonga. I settled on  my red ´mirella´s and at the end of the evening, I the famous card was still dancing on air , in more ways than one  …

I could not be selfish and wanted to find a way of making the Gretaflora tango shoes available in Brussels.

After having succesfully met with the founders Greta & Flora, I chose the first collection to be sold in Brussels starting end of February 2009.

As a result, orders can now be placed via this website, or are available at the B&B Phileas Fogg  ( + 32 ( 0 ) 495 22 09 85 ), and at the Brussels Tango Festival.
